The story so far……..
Three chimney stacks are a prominent feature for a power station east of Adelaide, South Australia. Painting No.19, Rockets to Mars, is a modern interpretation of objects within an environment. The title evolved as a reflection of the earthy colours and rocket like forms and was in fact the first work painted from this series. However, their presence in an otherwise flat industrial landscape led me to consider and imagine their history. Project Icarus developed from this notion. Could the megaliths be part of a half-completed project for space exploration; ancient vessels from another time or simply a cog in the city’s power grid? The Icarus series of paintings provides one epic point of view. Experience the journey, explore the machine and question…where to from here?
Project Icarus is an interconnecting, multi layout artwork designed as part of a trilogy of works titled Genesis. The hope is to conclude the collection in the future with Part II: Chronicles of Cerberus and Part III: Chimera’s Coil.

Project Icarus
Welcome to the Project Icarus Gallery of contemporary and fine artist Drew Harrison. Project Icarus is a multi panel and interconnecting industrial/surrealist work that draws heavily on mythology and allegorical story telling.
